Mexican Silver Libertad

Mexican Silver Libertad are large Mexican bullion silver coins. They are sold on one troy ounce, one half ounce, one quarter ounce, one tenth ounce and one twentieth ounce sizes. There have been over twenty five million made since they were first minted in 1982.

These Mexican silver coins are .999 fine silver, or as pure as silver coins are usually manufactured.  On one side of the coin is the Winged Victoria as seen on the Mexican Independence Victory column in front of a landscape with the volcanoes Popocatepetl and Iztaccihuatl. The opposite side shows the coat of arms of the country of Mexico. The newest version has the Winged Victoria in an angle different from the old design, and the opposite side shows the coat of arms of Mexico surrounded by historical Mexican coats of arms.
