Gold Coins of Peru

The early gold coins of Peru are of the Spanish colonial type cobs and round coins with various Spanish Kings starting in the early 1500s when Peru and Mexico were home base of Spanish New World Empire.  Peru became a Republic in 1823 and issued its own collectable gold coins through 1969.
