AUSTRALIAN RARE COIN AND BANKNOTE INVESTMENT FUND
Leading numismatic dealer Robert Jaggard has announced the impending launch of the Australian Rare Coin and Banknote Fund - a unique alternative investment new to Australia.
For Robert, this will be an ambition realised. He first conceived the idea of such a fund as far back as 1992. The idea was shelved at the time because of the small size of the market. Market growth and changing superannuation legislation during the intervening years led Robert to believe that such a fund could now become a reality.
The fund has now been established with the assistance of boutique investment advisory firm, Hindal (established 1996).
Robert's company, Jaggards test 1963) has been engaged by Hindal to implement the fund's investment strategy (Hindal Securities Pty are the holder of Australian Financial Services Licence No: 235359).
Subscriptions will be sought from 'wholesale clients' (as defined by the Corporations Act) from 'wholesale clients' (as defined by the Corporations Act), to provide the funding for the purchase of high quality rare Australian (mainly pre-decimal) numismatic material
The fund is aiming to raise $25 million.
Robert Jaggard believes that the collective buying power of such a fund will enable it to amass a collection that would be extremely difficult for an individual collector or investor to achieve.
Jaggards' wide range of contacts, Australian and international, will provide opportunities for purchases of rare material from auctions, dealers, private investors and collectors.
The funds target is long term capital growth but short term buying and selling opportunities may also be considered when appropriate.
The fund will be open for subscription in February 2007. For more information please contact Hindal, on (02) 8297 3100 or visit www.hindal.com.au. Or phone Jaggards on (02) 9230 0886.
